Compliance and Global Logistics Specialist

Job Description

The Compliance and Global Logistics Specialist will be responsible for managing compliance information into various AIT and Government operating systems, supporting/monitoring AIT field offices both domestic and international with Regulatory Compliance and Government Business.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage import transactions and customs brokers and FF’s
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures
  • Coordinate import/export shipments
  • Issue NAFTA, Manufacturer’s Affidavits, CI’s and P/L, Certificates of Origin
  • Guide organization for import/export compliance
  • Classification of parts using Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Understand Import/Export laws and regulations
  • Releasing international orders for Distributors
  • Preparations of shipping documents for international shipments
  • ACE/AES knowledge
  • Understand how to use TECRO/AIT Carnet
  • Knowledge OFAC/Denied Party Screening Process.
  • Familiar with Incoterms
  • Serve as a back-up to Global Logistics Coordinator with the following responsibilities:
  • Coordinate import/export shipments
  • Releasing international orders for Distributors
  • Preparation of shipping documents for international shipments
  • Support to Service Division and Headquarters on international issues
  • Head the Assist Program including filings and tracking for compliance
  •  Other responsibilities assigned by manager

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Able to interface with many departments to assure the success of the company
  • Excellent speaking and personal, and diplomatic skills
  • Ability make decisions involving cost savings of shipments
  • Familiarity with international terminology
  • Able to make decisions regarding US regulations
  • Knowledge of ERP system SAP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree or high school diploma/GED with five years of experience in coordinating the transport of goods via ocean, air, and truck for domestic and international customers.
  • Experience with Commercial Environment ACE/AES
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP ERP System

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word.

Work Conditions:

  • Standard eight hour day with overtime as needed
