Job Description
Global Logistics Manager is responsible for the relationship management and
operational execution of freight forwarders and customs brokers used for import
and export shipments worldwide and for the maintenance of actual landed costs on
all direct imports on behalf of its stakeholders. Develop transportation
strategies to effectively provide quality transportation solutions and speed to
market at mutually beneficial pricing levels. Spans across and supports product
development, sourcing, merchants, as well as various business partners. In
addition, this position manages the import/export specialist staff. Responsible
for the timely movement of Talbots Import, LLC merchandise and non merchandise
imported to destination. This position audits and approves international
freight, and brokerage costs. This manager has a staff of Import/Export
Specialists and has interface with various points and group members of our
process calendar. It requires cross coverage, team building leadership skills
and nimble priority management.
Requirements
Knowledge and experience in the importing and exporting at a level acquired
through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and four to six
years of directly related experience. Customs Broker license preferred. Must
have excellent knowledge of Microsoft products and excellent communication and
management skills.
