Job Description:

As a member of the Company's Trade Compliance team, the Trade Compliance Specialist will manage import and export compliance processes to ensure adherence to global customs regulations and partnering agencies. The Trade Compliance Specialist will be a leader in process improvements to ensure compliance to trade regulations while facilitating the inbound and outbound movement of shipments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classification in North America.
  • Perform and enhance U.S. export compliance functions including denied party screening and license determination.
  • Address and resolve questions and issues with service providers, including customs brokers and freight forwarders.
  • Understand and interpret product specifications, Bill of Materials, and other technical records.
  • Identify the country of origin and mark on imported goods.
  • Identify free trade program opportunities while ensuring adherence to preferential treatment qualifications.
  • Review trade data and reporting to identify, process, and manage post-entry auditing.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for applicable U.S. import and export processes.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in international business, supply chain, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years experience in U.S. trade/customs compliance in a corporate setting.
  • Experience in product classification, ECCN determination, and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • U.S. Customs brokerage license or CUSECO certification preferred.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting U.S. Government regulations, Harmonized Tariff of the United States, and other applicable regulatory reference and control documents.
  • Must have a strong passion for continuous improvement, desire to learn, and be a self-starter.
  • Capable of managing large data sets, analyzing trends, and identifying risk.
  • Advanced proficiency with current Microsoft Office and analytics programs including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
