Customs Compliance Project Manager
Reporting to the Head of Global Logistics of a $2 billion international
company that designs and manufactures precision measurement equipment. The
company is a global market leader, profitable, and has shown consistent growth.
The manager will be responsible for ensuring that the company is in compliance
with customs requirements (predominately US), and for improving all customs
related processes to speed processing times and optimize financial obligations.
Duties include achieving and maintaining compliance with supply chain security
requirements such as C-TPAT, audits, and consistent HTS codes. This position
will begin as an individual contributor, and could evolve and grow over time.
Activities involve customs brokers, suppliers, and process development to drive
continuous improvement. The challenge is to ensure that the various departments
maintain a pro-active compliance strategy.
Background Required:
- Import and export trade compliance (5 years)
- Program and project management
- Supply-chain processes
- ERP implementation in a decentralized organization
- Compliance audits including country of origin
- Designing and implementing improved compliance processes, procedures,
manuals
- Corporate wide HTS standardization
- Duty drawback, royalties, tariff, valuation
- Working with free trade zones and knowledge of FTA
- Customs bonds and C-TPAT experience
- Savings from implementing improved compliance processes
- Worked with freight forwarders, brokers, import vendors
- International experience
- Travel: Up to 25% (mainly internal US)
- Education: Bachelors degree
- Location: Central Ohio (relocation assistance)
- Compensation Structure:
- Base salary: $70,000 to $100,000
- Bonus target of 11% of base
