Position Summary:
Management and implementation of Clorox's worldwide trade compliance
strategy, policy, programs, tools and related projects to ensure compliance with
export and import laws and regulations in all countries where Clorox does
business worldwide. Leadership and development of three direct reports and other
indirect functional leads. This position, based at Clorox's global headquarters
in Oakland, CA, partners with Legal, Finance, Tax, R&D, PSO and all Clorox
businesses to ensure supply chain and business compliance with regulatory
requirements in the area of Global Trade Compliance (GTC). This position leads
PSO's efforts to execute a globally compliant, 'zero loss' and cost optimized
supply chain. Supports global affiliates to ensure compliance with US and local
regulations affecting international trade, and monitors and communicates impact
of changing regulations to internal stakeholders. Develops and implements
corporate policy related to import and export and ensures processes and
documentation are in place through internal and external audits. Designates
product classifications according to tariff codes and seeks benefits to be had
through tariff engineering, utilization of FTAs and other available trade
programs. Directs and coordinates all GTC governmental, regulatory and
compliance reporting for the company. Serves as primary point of contact for all
trade compliance communication with governmental officials. Ensures the
integration of necessary GTC work activities into other functions' work streams
to deliver compliance reliability and coordinates supply chain risk assessment
and mitigation strategies. Serves as a coach, subject matter expert and primary
point of contact in the area of GTC interpretation, integration, compliance and
assessment. Provides insight to the company in the areas of GTC trends,
influences trade law development and develops corporate and personal capability.
This position also interfaces and coordinates activities with US Customs and
Border Protection and other government agencies, outside legal counsel, trade
compliance consultants, logistics service providers, foreign and domestic
suppliers and distributors along with providing crisis management support to all
of our businesses. This position reports to the VP - Operations Services and
sits on the Operations Services Leadership Team. U.S. and overseas travel plays
an important part in the OSLT's activities and is expected to amount to ~25%.
Other Scope Factors:
This position will serve on the Operations Leadership Team responsible for
sub-functional strategy development / deployment, people / capability
development, process / tool development and deployment, setting the tone for the
organization, ensuring a common customer approach and representing the larger
Product Supply Organization. This position has a dotted line reporting
relationship to Legal.
