Job Description

offices worldwide. This position is responsible forglobal compliance of all
inbound and outbound goods (raw materials, finishedgoods, capital equipment, and
sample), development and implementation of the internalprocesses and procedures
in compliance with US government programs/regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must have detailed knowledge of EAR/BIS, AES/CBP
- Ensure compliance with global import regulations (classification,
valuation, quantity, origin declaration & Free Trade Agreement eligibility).
- Monitor all import / export documentation & assure corporate compliance
to trade laws
- Manage BIS and OFAC licenses for exports to sanctioned countries.
- Implement internal processes & controls to meet U.S. Customs regulations
- Initiate periodic internal and external audits / assessments & develop
systems to measure compliance
- Coordinate U.S. Customs audits / inquiries & work with brokers, agents &
attorneys to resolve problems / issues
- Obtains, Classifies and maintains export classifications (ECCN, HTS)
- Build and maintain export classification database.
- Educates and trains internal staff on policy changes and new directives
- Function as corporate spokesperson with U.S. Customs and Border
Protection, Bureau of Industry and Security and other government agencies as
they relate to customs and global trade issues
- Continuously monitor government and industry developments (e.g.
security, customs compliance, HTS changes, etc) and maintain current
information on all import and export regulations.
- Modify business best practices and implement operational changes as
appropriate.
- Recommend import / export compliance regulations / policies & codify
into a Policies / Procedures Manual
- Ensure all operating systems, files and databases relevant to
import/export activities are operating in compliance.
- Manage NAFTA & other Free Trade Agreement Certificates
- Work with all appropriate parties to improve the Import and Export
Processes with particular focus on cycle time and cost reduction.
- Hands-on person that will run the program from A-Z.
Education and Experience:
- 10 or more years of experience inimport and export compliance and
Supply Chain management
- Experience implementing Export Management andCompliance and Import
Compliance programs
- Direct experience with restricted partyscreening systems and US
Government online application procedures required
- Experience with a multinationalmanufacturing organization preferred
- Knowledge of Harmonized TariffClassification, NAFTA, valuation and C-TPAT
is required.
- Must have experience with BIS andOFAC
- Strong written and verbalcommunication
- Must have knowledge of encryption.
- Knowledge of technology transfer andDeemed export requirement
- Ability to learn/adopt multiplesystems. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics
AX is plus.
- BS/BA required, preferably inBusiness or International Business
